Horrible lastminute.com

I've just got the worst experience in my entire life with "last minute"!

No other services were so poor and non-professional and representative+supervisor were so ignorant! They sent me email two days prior the trip (international destination) that the reservation was canceled without any apparent reason! Honestly, neither the rep nor the supervisor did explain me what was the reason....

They claimed that they called me, but it's far from truth as I did not receive any voicemail. They started giving some other stupid excuse saying my bank was closed on the weekend! My bank - TD - is the only one that actually is open 7 DAYS a WEEK! And there is always a representative who will assist you on the phone even during the weekend! So what they say it's B.S. And lie!!!! (25/07/11)

Bad press takes toll on Lastminute

Lastminute.com shares had their wings clipped yesterday after the BBC's Watchdog programme reported a clutch of complaints from disgruntled customers of the online holiday company.

The shares, which had surged from a 77p low in March to as high as 315.25p this month, slid 10.25 to 300p as investors reacted negatively to Wednesday night's programme.

In one instance a woman and her partner had their romantic trip to New York ruined when they arrived at the airport to be told their flight had been cancelled and that they were booked on an earlier flight. Lastminute.com had failed to warn them.

Martha Lane Fox, managing director, had appeared on the programme in January promising that similar complaints from viewers who had experienced double-charging, and tickets and hotels not being booked, would be made "isolated incidents". (20 Nov 2003)

"Isolated incidents"?!! Ha ha ha!

I tried to book a flight to Bangkok to take my family away for the easter holidays with this company i was just about to confirm everything and it said there was a problem with the details please phone the company to resolve this issue, the number was premium rate of course they could'nt speak proper English and they told me i had to wait 2 hours to see if the flight was going to be confirmed to which i said forget it i cant wait 2 hours i want my money back and i'll book it with a different company to which they told me it would take up to 48 hours for the money to be returned to my bank and i said you just told me you had'nt taken any money off me so how can it take 48 hours to put my money back in the bank i asked to speak to the manager who just told me the same rubbish. I phoned my credit card company and they told me it will take up to 10 days for the money to get back i have now missed the flight i wanted. (18th Feb 2011)

Connection failed mid-way through, so I booked again. Now I've been charged twice

I recently used lastminute.com to book a double room at The Clifton Hotel, Scarborough, part of the English Rose Hotels group. The internet connection failed before the transaction was completed, so I used the same website to rebook. When I arrived at the hotel check-in the next day, staff told me I had booked two double rooms. I said that, so far as I knew, I'd only booked one, and only needed one. No more was said. (25 September 2010)

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY!!!!

Please NEVER EVER EVER use this service!

Lastminute overbooked the particular hotel we booked into by SIX bookings. That means that six different bookings including us arrived to check in to our hotel only to be told there was no available room leaving us with NO WHERE to stay in London upon arrival. To add the worst insult to injury after multiple attempts at contacting any representative of the company they refuse to be in touch and to honor the refund they promised when initially dealing with the overbooking.

ABSOLUTELY THE WORST COMPANY!!!! Do NOT give them your money. (11/05/2011)

High Street Max Scam

The offer of a £10 online shopping voucher looked too good to be true.

So Caroline Ingman, buying theatre tickets through lastminute.com, decided not to accept the offer.

But almost a year later she noticed regular monthly payments being taken from one of her credit cards by a company called HighStreetMax. (July 10, 2008)

How many thousands have been ripped off by lastminuite.com?

As this is all automated I wonder how long this scam has been going on by Lastminute.com and how many thousands have been ripped off by lastminuite.com?

I have NEVER heard before of ANY company allowing you to get to the payment stage and then they insist you call them and then inflate the agreed price by over 50%!

As it has been an "ongoing error for a long long time" he said, obviously the scam lastminute.com has been operating has been going on I suspect since it was founded well over a decade ago.

I know know why they are called lastminute.com as they think it acceptable to inflate prices AT THE LAST MINUTE by over 50% as you are paying for your order!!! (08-07-2009)

I get nothing but hassle and stress

So tried to book a city break - got a failure message online saying their flight reservation system was down and to retry. Which I did. Various times on Saturday and Sunday. Which resulted in Lastminute taking the price of the holiday out of my account three times in total. It then took them 4 working days to release my money back in to my account. No apology nothing. Lastminute.com has stollen $550.00 from me

Please help! You mentioned in your review of lastminute.com that you were able to contact them via telephone about the problems you experienced. I live in the usa and was tmporarily living in switzerland this summer when I used the lastminute services to book some plane tickets. After reciving the tickets I got an email that said there was a cancellation and listed the new flight arrangements. These were not satisfactory and I responded as instructed to the email. I then heard nothing. After several weeks I contacted them by the telephone number listed on the email. It was no longer in service but had a recording with the new phone number. I called and spoke with someone named rowena in customer services and she instructed me to send the tickets back to them with a note that I was requesting a refund. She assured me several times that I would deffinately recieve the refund but it would likely take 3 months to process. I agreed and again did as instructed. It has now been 4 months, the numbers I have tried to call are not working. There are no numbers on the website and when I have tried to contact customer services via the online email form, I never recieve a responce. Lastminute. com has essentially stollen $550.00 from me and I do not know how to get it back. I have emailed every single person and email address listed on their website. The human resources person wrote back that she couldnt help but passed along my inquiry. I need a contact phone number and any advice relating to the british legal system-consumer protection agency/ advocate group, for lodging a coplaint etc. PLEASE HELP

Lastminute have done BOTH of their old tricks

yep -lastminute have just done BOTH of their old tricks to me (keeping my money without paying the Airline for my ticket AND charging me twice). So I have a ruined trip and more than £800 building up interest on my credit card. Words simply cannot describe how bad their customer service is. Having done some research (watchdog, which.net and other sites like this) it seems they will ONLY ever refund money when legal proceedings are instigated - even in completely cut and dry cases like mine.

Lastminute.com - it will lie and lie again

The Company will lie, provide inaccurate information and will try to absolve themselves of all blame.

They will not contact you back. They will not try to rectify faults. They will deliberately mislead you, They will deliberately produce misleading advertisements. They will lie and lie again, usually in the face of overwhelming evidence. by lastresort.com - written on 13/12/10

Lastminute.com - it should be shut down

I have been so disgusted by a service like lastminute.com.au. They double charged our credit card eight thousand dollars, leaving us financially destitute for over a week.

When they refunded the money, after numerous phone calls, they refused to take any responsibility for what occured. The supervisor of the head office on York St was the most unhelpful person in that business. She was rude and lied to us about the money several times.

She refused to reimburse us, until finally after a staggering 42 phone calls; she told us to "f•ck off" and that she won't compensate us. I will never deal with Lastminute.com.au again. Never has booking a ticket caused my family so much trouble. They should be shut down. Adrian_Bruno, March 25, 2010

They take your money and don't book you on your flight

I found the site very easy to use and paid with my switch card. The whole process took less than five minutes to find the cheapest flights with British airways and to get verification of payment and booking.

All very well until we got to Belfast City Airport to find that we where not booked unto our flight. The girl at the British Airways customer services desk was extremely helpful and phoned last minute.com for us.

Eventually after holding for 20 minutes and missing our flights she got through to someone who could not trace our booking even though we had the booking reference number. She was then put on hold until he got a supervisor, who then tried to tell her that the money had not been debited from our account. She was able to tell him that this was not the case as I luckily had my bank statement showing the debit of £127.00 and also she could see the authorisation number on her computor screen. veramck

*&^%$!: some very interesting and important reviews on lastminute.com are been removed from this site! What's on?!

Lastminute.com - the scam

I bought a £500 present on the 11th December, as of today I still haven't received the present or my money back. I have been accused of lying on more than one occassion by their CS dept and I have nothing but unhelpful service when I have tried to email or contact them by phone.

I am so incensed by my experience that I have contacted Watchdog and I would urge others to do the same, maybe then they will sit up and take notice. by wendybinns - written on 23/01/11, updated on 23/01/11

Lastminute.com - blatant rip off

Lastminute.com - absolute rubbish!

if you get an error online , forget it and try someone else - thats what the help line say ..

spent ages trying to make a booking and fails at the payment bit ...calling the helpline is a complete waste of time ! Bast@rds hang me up twice, so be warned!

they r a blatent rip off and i steer well clear !

Lastminute.com is rubbish

Lastminute.com is rubbish.

1) I bought an item which came with "two free air-tickets". This turned out to be a voucher which could only be redeemed by post at 14 days notice. Last minute?

2) Later, I bought another air-ticket. After confirming the purchase, Lastminute told me there was a problem and I should contact the airline. The airline told me Lastminute had sold a ticket for a non-existent flight! Lastminute denied all blame.

I've also seen "bargain rates" which were actually the hotel's standard offer price.

Lastminute.com caters for people who are "cash-rich but time-poor", ie. they're busy and can afford to be ripped off. If you are cash-poor and time-poor, this is not for you!

Note: this is not for anybody!

lastminute.com - bastards

So angry right now!

Booked a flight for a good price thorough lastminute.com, but they said my card didn't work - hours later when the good price was gone they tell my my card is all right. Of course it was - I never had any problems with it before and they all ready deposit over 900 £ from my bank!

Spend the next day (over 9 hours of hell on there webpage where every time you click on a good price finds out the tickets doesn't exist) and finally found new tickets. Only to find out I can't book it AGAIN! Even if I got a confirmation from them saying it would not be any more problems.

Try to call them, and talk to their "sales department" - witch was a total joke. Couldn't here a word the woman said, in India or something, and she never heard a about a country called Rwanda or even less that the capital is Kigali. Even when I try to spell Kigali - "kenneth... Ipod..." yhee in the end I just hang up.

Never ever again, 48 hours of hell with lastminute.com

Only hope I get the money back! Idiots.

Note: they are not idiots. They know very well whats they are doing.

Lastminute.com - Absolutely disgusting

Absolutely disgusting service will not buy anything from this company again did not reply to any of my e-mails and couldn't even speak to a person on the telephone on hold for 20 minutes, gave up in the end, don't even bother with them they are rubbish

BEWARE!

Before you book with company BEWARE. I booked flights for April 2011. Due to tragic family circumstances i had to cancel, Lastminute would not entertain a refund. Be very careful when booking with this company. I contacted the airline and they said, had i booked through them they would have refunded

£500 cancelation fee!

If i could give this operator 0 stars or even minus i would, booked a hotel stay and was charged £500 cancelation fee, i could understand an admin charge but not £500, they should be disgusted with themselves, it was only booked with them for 10 minutes and it cost me a ridiculous amount
